Greetings, Clarksville Chamber of Commerce Member!
We have
designed the new ClarksvilleVA.Com website to be convenient and easy to use
for people searching for more information about the Clarksville area, as
well as making it easier for them to find and contact you!
Below are answers to several questions which we anticipate you may have.
If you have a question which is not answered below, please feel free to contact
us via our website (http://www.lowgenius.com).
I got an e-mail which said it was sent through this site. Why isn't my
e-mail address listed on the Chamber of Commerce Website anymore?
Wonderful, we're glad the Member Contact Form is doing its job!!
Increasingly, the public display of e-mail addresses on web pages leads
to the 'harvesting' of those addresses by automated systems, which then
add the addresses to bulk e-mail lists. In order to keep your e-mail address
hidden from public view while still giving potential customers an easy
and convenient way to contact you, we have designed a 'Member Contact Form'
(link above, under the page banner). This form gives the customer a place
to type their name, e-mail address, and phone number, as well as a message.
That information is then assembled by an automated process and send to
the e-mail address we have in the site database for you (this will be the
same address that was listed publicly on the old website). If we do not
have an e-mail address in the database for you, your business is not listed
on the contact form.
At no time do the Chamber or LowGenius Web Design ever see the information
that is sent to you. It is just as safe as any
other message you get in e-mail.
To help prevent abuse, the automated system collects a bit of information
from the sender's computer called the IP address. Every computer that is
connected to the internet has an IP address. This is a numeric value in
the format 111.222.333.444, and can help determine where the machine that
sent the message is located...and potentially, from there, determine the
person responsible for sending it. If you receive any message through our
system which appears to be abusive - juvenile pranks, for instance, or
sales pitches - please contact us right away through our site (link above).
I need to correct information in my directory listing.
Please contact the Chamber via telephone or in writing and let them know
what you need. The Chamber's mailing address
and phone numbers are at the bottom of this page. This site has been designed
to allow the Chamber to easily add, change, and delete member information.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to satisfy several possible areas of issue, each
business is listed in only ONE directory category. There are no plans to
add new categories at this time. Each member may list their business name,
World Wide Web address, e-mail address (used for the Merchant Contact
Form, see above), a short description of the business, and a SMALL image
(no more than 150 pixels by 50 pixels) in the directory listing.
While the Chamber is committed to publicizing each of its members, it
is not within the scope of ClarksvilleVA.Com to serve as a primary website
for each individual Chamber member. If you feel that your business needs
a more meaningful web presence (or if you think your existing website needs
a facelift), you are welcome to contact LowGenius Web Design for a free
consultation and estimate to build or redesign a website for your business. LowGenius
Web Design offers a 15% discount off design services to all members of
the Clarksville Lake Country Chamber of Commerce.*
My website is not listed in the directory
If your website is not listed in the directory, it's because we don't
have a website address listed for you in our database. Please see the above
information regarding correcting directory information.
I have a small graphic that I would like to include in the directory listing
You may e-mail your small graphic (PLEASE NO LARGER THAN 150X50 PIXELS!)
to the Chamber. They will be able to upload your graphic and associate
it with your directory listing.
