Senior of the Month Banquet
Senior of the Month Banquet
Time: 6:30 pm
Mecklenburg County Schools, along with the Mecklenburg County Business Education Partnership, will host their 3rd Annual Senior of the Month Banquet at the School Board Office in Boydton, VA. Throughout the school year (August-May) one Senior is recognized at Park View High School and Bluestone High School each month based on their citizenship, accomplishments, and overall demeanor by their peers, their teachers and/or their coaches. There are a total of 20 students (10 from Park View High School and 10 from Bluestone High School). Each month these 2 seniors receive a plaque and are honored at the monthly School Board meeting in which they receive their nomination. The Senior Banquet is held to tribute and recognize these seniors with a dinner. We need the help of businesses in the community to once again make this event as successful as the last 2 years. We are asking businesses to sponsor a senior attending the dinner for 0 which go towards a college scholarship for all of the students. A representative from the sponsoring business is invited to attend the dinner, which is encouraged so that they can share the unforgettable experience. For the last 2 years we were able to recruit enough sponsorship to provide each student with a 0 scholarship! The dinner is a formal event which will be catered by Brian’s Steakhouse. School Board Members are also invited to attend. If you are able to assist please contact Gina Lawrimore, MCBEP Director, at 434-265-6789 or director@mcbep.org.
