The Clarksville Lake Country Chamber of Commerce and other local organzations host a variety of events throughout the year.

Nearing its third decade, the Virginia Lake Festival is Clarksville's signature event held the third weekend in July and attracting more than 80,000 people each year.   This festival was voted by the Southeast Tourism Society as one of the 'Top Twenty Festivals in the Southeast' in 2005.

Clarksville also offers a full weekend of family fun in October each year.  The Clarksville Hydroplane Challenge & World Inboard Championship races into Clarksville during the Chamber’s Annual Harvest Days Festival, making the first weekend in October a full weekend of family fun both on the lake and downtown.

Annual Chamber Events:

Virginia Lake Festival · LakeFest (as it is known locally) includes a multitude of events open to the public at no charge. Children will enjoy tethered hot air balloon rides as the event kicks off Thursday night. Sand sculptors begin their artistry on Friday morning and a live band rounds out the day. Saturday morning starts at dawn as 12 balloonists skim the lake and 200+ vendors line the street, including juried arts & crafts show and a wide choice of food. Bluegrass music fills the air. Helicopter rides, antique cars and 80,000 people make for a non-stop eventful day. At night fall, boats gather on the lake and people along the shoreline to see the extravaganza fireworks show.

Harvest Days Festival - October 6 & 7, 2007:  (in conjunction with the Clarksville Hydroplane Challenge).  Downtown Clarksville is alive with vendors, music, food, an auction and a pumpkin decorating contest.

Christmas Holiday Open House - Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007:  Downtown merchants offer special holiday deals and treats.

Other Annual Events in Clarksville:

Clarksville Hydroplane Challenge - World Inboard Championship – October 6 & 7, 2007:  Clarksville has been selected to host the prestigious 2007 World Inboard Championship. This power boat race will draw competitors from all over the US, Canada and the world. 100+ boats racing in more than 11 classes. The race course will be located "between the bridges" leading into Clarksville with spectator seating located on the Business 58 bridge which will be closed to traffic. This provides a spectacular view of the entire race course. Food and memorbilia vendors and port-a-johns will be on site. Shuttle service provided from the bridge into downtown Clarksville where Harvest Days Fesitval will also be held the entire weekend. Native American Heritage Festival & PowwowMay 10, 2008This is an annual event hosted by the Occoneechee State Park.  The day includes Native American dancers, singers, foods and musicians performing Intertribal dances. The Powwow is open to the public to experience the Native American Heritage. Small admission fee at the gate.
