Getting To Clarksville, Virginia

Getting Here: Making Your Way To Lake CountryThe town of Clarksville is easily accessible by land, water and air.

If you’re driving to Clarksville, we’re located on Highway 58, a scenic, leisurely four-lane highway that spans the width of the Southern border of Virginia.  Clarksville’s new bypass bridge which opened in the spring 2005 offers a postcard view of downtown Clarksville, the nighttime fishing lights on the local bridge, and the Clarksville marina.

But you certainly won’t want to simply drive by, so take one of three exits that lead you to downtown Clarksville.  On the eastern and western sides of the bypass you can access business 58 which leads you to downtown Clarksville.  From the east, business 58 will take you across the local bridge which is under construction during the 2007 season.  One lane of the bridge will be closed during construction, so if you’re not patient enough to simply sit and enjoy the view of beautiful Buggs Island Lake, you may want to take the next exit, Highway 15.  Head north and it’s only a mile to Highway 58.   A right turn will lead you directly into downtown Clarksville.

If you’re staying on the lake and want to boat your way to Clarksville, you’re welcome to stop at the Town Dock located at the foot of the local bridge next to the Lake Motel, between buoy markers 19 & 20.  Tie up your boat at one of 20 complimentary day-use slips and head into town for some unique shopping or a bite to eat.

Or fly into Clarksville on your private plane to Marks Municipal Airport with its 4,500’ paved and lighted runway.  Tie-downs are available, but the airport is unattended.  For those of us without a pilot’s license, Raleigh-Durham International Airport is one hour south of Clarksville, and Richmond International Airport is two hours northeast.

So matter how you get traveling, by car, boat or plane, you can find your way to paradise.
