Has the entertainment for Winefest been decided?
Yes, the musical entertainment for the 5th annual Clarksville Lake Country Wine Festival has been confirmed. By popular demand…the committee is bringing back the group from the 2010 event–Brian Parks & Jeff Bailey. This two-some provides some super acoustical music and songs. They have performed together for more than 10 years; their genre goes from Van Morrison to Bob Segar to the Allman Brothers. Both are accomplished musicians with their vocals and both play guitar; Parks also plays harmonica and saxophone. You won’t want to miss the 5th annual festival and these two guys on stage!
Where is this place? Please provide address. I live in Montgomery County MD. Thanks.
Hi, thanks for inquiring about our 5th annual Clarksville Lake Country Wine Festival. Our location is Southern Virginia…about 1 1/2 hours from Richmond, VA and about the same from the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. In addition to those attending from Virginia–we have a number of guests that will be attending from out-of-state–North Carolina and Tennessee. We’d love to have you here with us from Maryland! The entrance gate of the festival is 412 Virginia Avenue, Clarksville, VA 23927. If you’d like to call us–our toll-free number is 800-557-5582.
Cheers!

What is the cost for someone who is not tasting wine? Thanks!
Dear Tina,
Thank you for your inquiry regarding the upcoming 5th annual Wine Festival in Clarksville on April 9th. The admission price is $20 per person for this event. The committee that coordinates this event has reviewed the possibilities of offering a non-taster’s ticket each year; however, their conclusion has remained the same. Their decision is based on the fact that every person attending has the enjoyment of being with their friends and meeting new ones, the live music, and partaking of the various games with prizes, raffle, and food vendors on site. Should a person perfer not to enter the festival grounds, there is plenty to do around Clarksville that day…there is a quilt show, an outdoor market, a wine-related vendor park, and the speciality one-of-a-kind merchant and restaurant owners in Clarksville that will be hosting April 9th specials throughout the day. Also, there is a historic walking tour and the Clarksville Regional Museum.
I am hopeful that you and your friends will be in Virginia’s Only Lakeside Town on April 9th. I truly believe all would enjoy the various experiences that will be happening.
I understand the concern with offering non-tasting tickets, but, many people don’t realize how much they drink at a wine tasting and often should not be driving afterwards, offering a designated driver ticket encourages people to get safe rides. Being a non-drinker, I am happy to go to these events, but am often discouraged by not having a price point that takes into account the fact that I will not be drinking the wine, though might purchase what my friends like as gifts for people. Often it causes me to prefer to go to locations where that is taken into consideration. I’m not suggesting non-tasters get in free, just a reduced rate, like $10 instead of $20. Typically the way other places have handled it is just making a big mark on both hands and not providing a wine glass to the non-drinker.
